Default Weird noise under dash

I've been noticing lately that for the first 5 or so minutes of driving, I'm hearing a flushing/ gurgling sound under the dash. It sounds like something is draining or trickling through some lineswhen I make turns. Anyone know what this may be?

oh no...
not to worry you, but last time i had that sound was when my head gasket was starting to go south...

Sounds like air flowing through a water pipe right?

Kinda.. Hard to explain the sound. But yeah, that sounds uncomfortably close.

Check the oil dipstick, if its got a white creamy looking coat, its FOR SURE a head gasket. Check your radiator level. Im not gonna put $ on it but maybe the system needs to be burped. If it looks low, run it for a bit without the cap on or set loose so any air in the system can get out once shes warm. Then put the cap back on while its running. Good luck and i hope its not a head gasket.

Yea, its deff air traveling through the heater core. You just have to figure out how air is in the system....Low coolant i hope? Mine was the head gasket was boiling the coolant and making air in the system. Easy fix...if you dont mind doing a head gasket.

I checked the coolant level and it was very low. It was about a quarter inch over the hose. I added more and let her run for about 10 minutes and then went about 20 miles or so. It still made that sound in the dash. I'm going to try running with the cap loose to see if that will let any air out. How would I "burp" the system?

Doing just what your planning on doing, driving it with the cap loose. When its warm, the t-stat opens and the juice flows through the system, eventually any air in it vents out. You may want to try a compression test on the cylinders as well. If you have weak pressure in 1 that may help you narrow down what you are looking for. Good luck man, i hope it comes out ok for you.

this happened to me once , it turned out my wife had her coffee on the dash while she was getting in and it spilled urrrururrrr
i was looking every where and finaly i busted her when i decided just to take the whole dam dash apart, there was a little puddle of coffee in the bottom of the vent that would gurgle.

but i have had this happen with head gaskets 2 but eveyone with a 4.7 says its normal for there to be a little milk on the oil cap cause poor neck desighn
