Default air/fuel ratio gauge

Are air/fuel ratio gauges difficult to install? What is needed for the install? I am thinking about putting one in to watch it and see if I can pull some more mpg's.

do you have a wideband A/F or just a regular A/F gauge? Unless you have a wideband you wont know what your A/F really is...as for install you need to have another bung welded into your exhaust for the o2 sensor that supplies the gauge with the reading, wiring isnt hard just follow the instructions that come with it

I read somewhere that you can attach the wire to the signal wire coming off of the first 02 sensor or at the ECU where it plugs in.

On the 3rd gen rams dodge changed the voltage of the o2 sensors to the PCM, they are low voltage now. The aftermarket gauges use the older higher voltage so they are not compatable, which is why you need their o2 sensor. What kind of A/F gauge do you have?

i Don't have one yet but I guess it is almost pointless unless you have a wideband o2 so i probably won't get one.

Yea, its more of a "show" thing unless its a wideband, and the only time you need a wideband is if your doing engine mods.
