Default need a little warning before my first oil change

got under the truck last night and I am going to get some oil and a filter for the oil change tonight. When under the truck I saw that the oil filter sits straight down. know from anybody that has done it before, shold I expect a nice little water fall of oil when I unscrew that thing? If so I will have two pans laid out.

thanks in advance.

after you break the initial seal grab a walmart bag wrap it around the filter then unscrew with your hand. Plus you have that gutter over the tie rod, I've even changed the filter on a full tank of oil and didnt have much spill.
What oil? Buy amsoil next time.

no problem, you may also want to put a rag towards the end of that drip catcher that goes over the tie rod just incase a lil spills out, but i havent had that problem.
