Thermostat Controller For Efan
I had my hayden one go out on me, and now I just have the efan hooked up to the ingition source instead. Do I really need a thermostat controller? I have no problems right now with this setup, and I doubt I will, Im just curious about it?
I don't think so, it'll just run all the time the truck is running. In real coldweather you may have an issue warming the truck up quickly, but that's about the only negative I can think of...
if you still have the factory battery running the fan all the time is going to kill it pretty quick, it might be harder on the fan by running all the time, and if your temp gets down too low you might throw a code like some people get when they put in a 180* stat
I've read where a lot of people have had the controller go out on the Viper fans. I think I read on another forum where people were replacing them with a really cheap one from auto parts stores, you may want to search or even Google it...
Thats what I bought is the hayden controller from a local auto parts store for 20 bucks. I will give this route a try for a little longer, if seems to be draining my battery quickly I will replace the viper fan with one from a taurus since most who run that setup dont have a problem with the hayden controller.

I forgot to add that Im still running the wiring the sameway minus the controller..The efan is not hooked up directly to the battery itself. Here is a diagram of how its hooked up minus the hayden controller..I should be good with not having the battery drain quickly right?
here is the controller I have http://www.jegs.com/p/Flex-a-lite/751522/10002/-1/11471 it works great, and not all that expensive
