Default Evap purge flow monitor failure or evap solenoid circuit

I own a 2004 5.7L Hemi Magnum Dodge Ram 1500. I have taken my Ram in several times to the Dealer for Engine Light codes on the Evap Purge System. The Dealer replaced the Gas Cap, Purge Solenoid, and the Pump, and after a couple of days the engine light comes back on again and the Dealer keeps on simply resetting it. Does anybody think it could be a sensor problem? If it is a sensor problem then what sensor needs to be replaced? Please! anybody with information about this problem write back to me because I am at the end of my rope. Thanks, Charlie

Only thing I can think of CNeste is, has the dealer checked all the rubber hoses in the evap sysem?
I do know that I replaced at least two of my hoses as the originals had "dry rotted".
There are a lot of hoses that run into and out of the purge solenoid/evap charcopal cannisters and from the gas fillup area's.
Ask them to check for dry rot or better still, inspect them yourself.
That way, at least you would know your getting a thorough job done.
BTW, what codes are you throwing?
It's no good the dealer just resetting the DTC. Get to know what the code is and post it up on here.
Hope this helps?
Al.

Abarmby: The code is P0442 very small leak. The Dealer thinks it is on top of the Gas Tank. Al no smoke has been detected. They cannot see on top the tank for smoke. The Dealer says they will have to drop the Tank to find leak. The Dealer says it could be one of the Roll-Over valves or the main hose. What do you think? Al thanks very much for your help. Charlie

One idea..............have you checked to make sure the gas cap is on tight.
Also, that it's in good condition.
That code I believe, is usually associated with the gas cap.
Try it and see.
The EVAP system is quite a complicated system.
My problems were very self evident, in that I could see that two hoses were dry rotted.
If the gas cap isn't the solution, and replacing the two easy to get at hoses that go into and out of the evap cannister doesn't cure it, it will unfortunately be a dealer fix.
Try the cap and later, replac ethe two hoses near the evap cannister near the fuel tank.

ABARMBY: Al I neglected to inform you that the Dealer had SMOKED the System two times attempting to locate the leak. The Cannister Hoses were both good no smoke was detected. The Gas Cap is brand new. Thanks for your help. Charlie
