Default BDS vs. FabTech

Curious to hear some opinions to compare these two suspension kits for my '07 1500 QC, black. I have looked into both and it seems like either way I go it won't be a bad decision.

Please give me your opinions and let me know if you are running one of these kits.

BDS:

FabTech:

Thanks.

I have a lot of friends with Fabtech lifts, have seen and been in or driven trucks with either solid front axles or torsion bar IFS fronts with them. Not personally seen their kit for your coil-over IFS system. Fabtech has always been known as the "bargain basement" suspension system, so I'd imagine it would be cheaper than the BDS (although I've not kept up with prices recently). In no way does it mean that their kits are not good. Everyone I know with one is pleased with their setup. I don't think they handle as well as my Rancho kit, but I believe the major difference there is simply that a 6" kit changes the angles more severely, so I don't think any 6" kit will feel as "centered" as a 4" kit.

As far as the BDS kit, it's one of the few I've never had a chance to see up close or drive, but their reputation seems to be very solid and their systems have the reputation of being pretty bullet proof.

BDS gives a lifetime warranty on their parts I believe. Also, the BDS is a "true" 6 inch lift, not 5 - 5.5 like most. I belive it is a little more $$$ than fabtech, but worth it in my opinion.

Let me first clarify, the Fabtech 6" Performance kit IS A TRUE 6" KIT. I installed it on my truck, I took the measurements before, I took the measurements after. I love the kit. It comes in black, not the blue you see on the site. Only thing I didn't like is that there is a set of spindles that are chromed. I am trying to get rid of all the normal chrome on my truck. Also, the duall steering stabilizer has white shocks.

Best price I found on the kit is at Fatbobsgarage. The link is usually at the top of the 3rd gen page.

I have no experience with the BDS kit, but I would buy the Fabtech again. I just wish I would have ebought 37's to with it. If you look in my album I think I have pics of the kit prior to assembly.

Hope that helps some.

Scott

Yea, I think all or most of the coil-over 6" kits are about 6". For some reason only the Skyjacker measured a true 6" on all the t-bar truck (02-05) kits, everyone else's listed 6" kits measured between 5 & 5.5". Don't know what brought about the change or fix on the newer kits, but most 6" kits for 06+ Dodges will fit 37's now...

I'm sure the warranty is only ontheir products, not on existing suspension components if that's what you're asking.

Thanks for the opinions guys.

SWOS Chief...why do you say you wish you would have bought 37's? Curious.

The warranty is only on their products. Fabtech has 2 different kits...1 being the kit with coilovers and theirbasic kit which uses spacers. I think I heard that only the coilover kit from Fabtech is a true 6 in. I'm not knocking the Fabtech kit in any way...I think both the Fabtech and the BDS are great lifts. All depends what you want to spend. The coilover kit from Fabtech is much more expensive then their basic kit.
