PA has emissions. Longtubes would probably be legal if you put cats back on right? I have heard mixed reviews on shortie headers. I thought about it but had a hard time finding them at decent prices.

It's my understanding that if you relocate the position of the cats, you will fail emissions. That's what I've done, put them back on about 18" or so back from the stock position and lengthened theO2 wires. But I have only lived in Ga. & Fl. for the past sixteen years, so I've not had to deal with an inspection for quite some time.
I know dynos on the Hemi with shorties have shown very modest gains, probably not near enough to justify the cost, unless you were going to do all the labor yourself and only had the cost of the headers to deal with. Mids are better and will allow you to keep the cats where they are, might be a good mod for you at some point.
I have not dyno'd since the Long Tubes, the "butt dyno" senses good gains from mid rpm's and up. Not much in the low end area.I do know when I added them to the existing cat back, CAI & tuner I experienced my best single mpg gain of any mod I've done. Don't know if the headers alone did it or not. I suspect that they kinda tied in with the others and really completed the whole intake/exhaust thing.
I think Moe's has offerings for the 4.7 at decent prices. I know KRC Performance has a very good selection of mods for the 4.7 V8...

Do you know if anyone makes mid tubes for 4.7? I have CAI and exhaust but it is still choked by the stock manifolds and y-pipe so replacing them is on my "list".

I would look at KRC for sure because they have alot of things for the 4.7. But I can't find a tuner for the 4.7 which really sucks. All the one's I have found only go through 03. [:@] But I am looking into gibson bolt on headers with magnaflow free flowing cats. But before that I am going to get the CAI. Now it's just a matter of getting the AEM Brute Force CAI or the Volent Ram Air Intake. Any thoughts?
