Default broken clips in LSD rearend Ram1500

Hey guys, I know I've seen quite few posted before but with my ability to search I can't seem to find any of the old posts.
So guys I decided to pull the cover off and I noticed what appears to be 2 clips broken.
Are there 2 clips for each side? Because it looks like 1 from each side, opposite ends are broken off.
So what does it take to replace these clips. Do I need to remove the carrier? is this a DIY project? Are the new clips a dealer only item? What do they cost?

This is a common issue if it's the same LSD as the 2nd gens use. You are way better off to just replace the LSD with a better one. The common options are the Auburn which I have and the Detroit Tru Trac.

Does anyone know if this issue has been corrected in the 2007 Ram? Thanks.

My truck is a 2002 Ram 1500 with about 66K miles on it. So any clue on what I need to do to replace these?

If getting it replaced under warranty is no longer an issue, you really should look into the Auburn or TrueTrac. Heck, I know quite a few guys who paid for an Auburn rather than having another Chrysler one put in, even if it would have been warranty...

Not sure if the 02 came with the 7/70 powertrain, if it did take it to the dealer and save some money for the time being.

Does anyone know if 2002's had a 7/70 warranty or if I could complain enough to get it fixed in warranty?

2002 does have the 7/70. I used it with mine. You will have to pay $100.00 deductable. It's been about 30000 miles ago and I will change fluid soon to see if alls ok.
