I don't know what would **** me off more. The fact that they stole my truck or that they left a stripped down GM product in my driveway

You may call up the utility box companies that convert beds to service beds. They have beds and possibly tailgates that would be like take-off wheels for much cheaper.

your insurance won't go up because of a comp claim.

Just buy a $15 lock. Did you check your spare tire to see if that was still there?

They probably didn't steal it to sell. Either they just boughta Ram with the tailgate beat to hell, or have beat theirs to hell and wanted to replace it without buying one. So they were probably looking for one the same color as their truck. Easier to steal yours than buy a new one. I still say that you should find them kill them, their familys, their friends, and anyone who might have spoken to them in the last 20 years. Cause that is probably how old they are.

Before anyone flames me for using the phrase "kill them, etc", it was a joke! Jesus, lighten up.

My dealership use to take the gates off and the space tire out while the trucks sat on the lot for this reason. They have since put the gates back on, but the spares still sit inside. People who steal like this are the lowest of the low.

I once had $900 worth of money orders stolen from a mail box near Mesa AZ. I was able to stop payment on the $400 one, but the $500 one was forged, then cashed. I got a copy of it form the money order company. It was used for rent at some apts in Mesa AZ. I filed a police report from Ohio. Did little good. The Mesa police are VERY BAD AND COULD CARE LESS. 6 months later I was in Phoenix, so I went to these apartments and show the management the forged money order which they cashed, as well is my reciept for the money order. They then gave me the apt number of the person who did the deed. I had it all setup. Called the cops. Took 2.5 hours for them to show!! Then after all that, his wife said he was not home. I left really pissed off. Never followed up more after that. The cop said for $500 that the Mesa police would probably not bother with it any further. I handed them all the info they need to lock the guy up and they did not care.

If your insurance rasies rates for a claim like that you have the wrong insurance.
Mesa is pretty scummy. I know someone that lives out there and I worry about my truck anytime I go see him.
