Default my idea

I just want to let people hear my idea. I want to go to a truck salvage yard and get 3 big rig tuck horns and a 4 or 5 gallon tank to put on my truck. I was looking at a small compressor that has a switch and turns on when the psi drops. I also wanted to tap in a fitting so I can hook up a line for the air nozzle or air tools. This would all be under the cab out of sight. Is this worth trying becuase I really want a deep and loud horn to replace my POS pep boys air horn. Oh and by the way, i would have a lanyard to pull just like a big rig.

those horns are sooooo loud and they suck just sitting in the truck when you hit it! not to mention your poor buddy or family member standing next to the thing! This guy in town has a train air horn on his daily driven peterbillt, it is waaaay more than is neccessary. but, then again, if you want to get recognized, it will definitely do the trick. just my opinon...lol

HELL YEAH!!! I've been looking on eBay for one. There are tons out there, but they're expensive! You can search for "train horn" and see them all! I called my junk yards and they don't have any. I also want the hose for air tools and such. Seeing as how I live by the beach, some toys always need inflated. KIDS toys! HA!

I have a 4 horn train set up with a 3 gallon tank and an external compressor. My tank also has the quick release attachment for tools so that I can inflate tires or pressure check my chambers that I repair. I love my set up. I keep it towards the back of the bed and my horns are near the front.

that would be sweet, either truck or train horn. plus I would love having the hose attachment under the hood too. I've read about people doing it in magazines and on different sites. My friend has the ol train horn on the peterbilt, and ya it is sooooo loud!

you also need to check the local laws on this...here in Michigan it is illegal use a air horn on anything but a commercial vehicle, it is considered emergency equipment.
