yoursdosn'tThis mod for for 03 and earlier trucks only. Only way to reduce TM on 04 -up is superchips, and eventually SCT will have that feature also

260 puts out more tq than a 6.1, hp is about the same between the 2 cams. I never really pay attention to my 0-60 so I dont know how much better it is. All I know is when I take off from a stop the truck takes off like a rocket if I keep traction( have to play with the peddle a little until it hooks up).

From what I hear from the people who do it there is nothing safe about it, this is why I never had superchips send me the update to reduce TM; I dont have the money to have my tranny rebuilt at the moment.

I dunno if this is a safe thing to do.the biggest weak link in the chrysler 545rfe transmission is. it is the second gear clutches and assembly. at WOT downshifts is the easiest way to toast that tranny by just massacring the second gear. there is a reason that torque is decreased at WOT

This was news 5 years ago; it's been common knowlege on all the Dodge boards -- I assumed even here. There are plenty of how-to's to do this mod.

The Superchips programmer does the same thing which is why I never bothered to cut the wire.
