Flue prices...
Hello, I own a 2500 06 ram 4x4, Need the beast for work, no truck no Job. Latley I have been fealing the hurt when flueing up. Consdiering my 3/4 is hemi powerd work truck and I'm driving more highway than city, My rig is not that bad on flue.
But, I'm back to driving 55mph on the highway, I don't excead 2000 Rpm when shifting ( 6 speed ) and I no longer buy coffie at Tim hortons or eat out, Have to flue the truck and cutting back on my perks is helping out.
I used to flue up at a half a tank, now, 3/4 of a tank, Reg has now gone to 129 a liter in Calgary, and I have allways used mid grade,
I have not noticed any one slowing down, no matter what they drive....
I have started considering a 4 banger as a 2nd mode of transport, my truckwill never ever be traded, or sold.
Hope your all finding ways of cutting cost's, Hemi's really can pull respectable MPG if you take the time to reserch gear ratios and add dual ex,
Yeah, I have been trying to cut down with my Hemi, and it’s hard for me because I can't stand to drive 55. That and the area where I live is all hills, so it's hard to get around that one, that and the fact that out of our 4 cars, the ram is the biggest, and most roomy to take on trips so we always end up taking it. I have been checking the MPG on the overhead console and going off that. I want to get dual ex, but the money I would use to spend on getting it done is being used for gas money! I usually fill her up at a 1/2 tank so I don't wear out the fuel pump, but lately, I just don't let it get less than a 1/2 tank because it really hurts to put a full tank of gas (26gal) in it. I know the book said to put in Plus, bit lately it's been getting reg, and i think it's mad at me for that lol. People laugh at us that have trucks/SUV but gas here in northern California, $4.00-$4.18(for reg), It doesn’t Matter what you are driving, it still costs a lot to fill up the tank!
i've only had mine a few months, but i've always used regular on it. i don't have anything to compare with as far as what difference it makes if it had plus, but it seems to do fine with regular. No knock, no extra loud engine or anything.
I use 87 for fuel (sorry)..... Anyway I seem to get better mileage with the 87 over the 89. we're all in the same boat with the Hemis. Great engine but difficult to keep your foot out of it. I do get 20+ on the highway with my 07 1500, not bad for a huge beast.

I know what you mean RedneckDodge86.
I realise that my truck is an 03 without the MDS, but it has top notch servicing with all the good stuff for oils/fluids, plugs and filters etc and if I break 14 mpg at 60-65 mph, I'll be both lucky and thankful! That's hand calculated.
My truck has 3:55 gears and the 20's, which I guess does screw things up a bit.
But all these guys getting 20+............NAH.......no way.
They must be seeing the overhead, when going downhill with a wind behind them after a reset ha ha ha

3.55's actually help your fuel econ when youre at speed on the highway, simple physics.
i have 3.92 and yes i will see 20+ on long trips where i have to fill back up, so i can do the math, and ive seen 22.xx on a trip from SA to corpus christi

Long time listener...first time caller. I have a 2004 w/mods and since putting on my 20's, I have been getting 9 MPG...sometimes 10 MPG. Yes, I am a lead foot. However, I was getting 12-14 before the new wheels. I've NEVER seen anything better than 15 MPG highway...even before the mods. So, the moral of the story is: "Quitchyer bitchen".
Stay away from the drive thru. They kill you in the gut AND the gas tank.

ha I shut my truck off if the drive through is taking a while, I'll sit there and let 2 cars advance before I'll move forward. **** the people off behind me but its not like there gonna get their food any faster.
have you cleaned your throttle body, how many miles on your plugs, were you the smart guy that thought platinum plugs would be better than coppers?

That wasn't me. Thanks for the suggestions. Haven' t checked that sh#t yet. I just hit 20K and it's an '04. I will get on it and let you know how it turns out. I thought that my programmer was gonna compensate for my new wheels, but it didn't. I just gained a few more pony's.
