throttle body spacer.....
just added thisthrottle body spacer from helix on about 2 weeks ago, and im wondering..... i notice a whistling sound about 2500 +acceleration rpms.... coming from that area, is that good or bad??? to be honest with you , it actually sounds bad ***, almost like a turbo or something! but dont know if its thats suppose to happen!

Yeah, I have the Jet spacer, and have the whistle too. That's one thing that I was warned about before I bought it. If you can stand it then keep it. Some people will look at you like your truck is F'd up, but as long as you know. Just keep all those people wondering.
The sound you hear is the sound of a RESTRICTION.... It works the same way you "WHISTLE" while you work... In order to make a whistle noise you must RESTRICT the air. Try to whistle with your mouth wide open....
Throttle body spacers can NOT help performance what so ever and in most cases they will hurt your performance.

Why would you install a larger intake to flow more air then a larger less restrictive exhaust to let the additional air out but toss in a Spacer that CHOKES the engine from taking advatage of those REAL performance mods.
SPEED SAFE, AIR RAM

On modern, non-carburated engines, throttle body spacers are continuously shown to RESTRICT the amount of air getting into the throttle body. Both dyno & real world tests have shown that they diminish performance and fuel economy.
They are generally regarded around performance shops as "performance restricting whistles." Remove it, use it as a pretty paper weight and chalk up the cost as a lesson learned...

Yeah, carburated engines can see an advantage from the increased turbulence caused by a TB spacer. FI engines don't require this, and to cause turbulence you must add some kind of drag force/restriction to the air flow.
LMAO that whistle is gonna be the only thing that's changing. You best take that thing out and set it up 200 meters down rang and see how many rounds you can put through the center. Hey out that tornado between your airbox and plenum.
Just think you could have filled up yer tank and bought a 12 pack to what ya lost on that tb spacer.
Ps they also make good paperweights.
Maybe that whistle is so ya can feel like you took the silencer ring off the turbo.
