Default Gettin A HEMI For Graduation!

Looks like I'll be switching over from 2nd to 3rd generation here in about two months. My parents just told me were going to order me a new truck this week so I can have something reliable to drive to college. I think my 98 would have made it, but I would have had to deal with 13 MPG, no passing gear, a starter you have to hit with a hammer periodically, no cruise or tilt, AC goin out, leaky power steering, and ect. Plus almost 237,000 miles on it. But I still have confidence in it. lol. Were gonna hang on to it anyway for a work truck and to keep the insurance down. Anyway, this is what I'm gonna order.
2008 Ram 1500 SLT Regular Cab 2WD
Electric Blue (Awesome Color)
HEMI with MDS (Mom gets 17 in town and 21 on the highway in hers)
Automatic Transmission
3.92's
Power Everything
Trailer Tow Group (Don't really tow a whole lot, but I like the heavy duty engine cooling)
Black Vinyl Floor (Lot easier to clean than carpet and my boots are almost always muddy)
Anti-Spin Differential Rear Axle
Fog Lights (I have terrible eyesight and need all the help I can get at night)
Aluminun 20"s
Plus the other SLT stuff.

I don't mean to come across as bragging or anything like that. I'm just really excited.

I'd be excited too. Change the color to patriot blue and then it would be the truck I would order. Congrats.

Boy do times change. When I graduated high school ('84) I had a '71 Jeep J-10 4x4 pickup that got a whopping 8 mpg's on the hiway and had about 130k on her! Rust had already claimed the floorboards on both sides and the bed, which were replaced with plywood. My other vehicle was a Honda motorcycle (great on gas, rough commute vehicle in upstate N.Y. winters though). Witha 24 mile commute to college each way, my parents gave me $250 to put towards a "reliable" car for back & forth to school.[&:]
I ended up spending about $2000 (my mom did co-sign the $1500 loan I needed) for a '73 Nova, 350ci, 4 speed, 4bbl. Not a whole lot better mileage than the Jeep, but a lot more fun to drive...

No doubt. My parents bought me a car for my sixteenth. It was $50.00 for the '74 Mustang and I had to get it to run and patch up the body.

My parents aint rich TRX450. The only reason were able to get a nice truck like this because it was a blessingfrom God. We just started gettin like $400 a month in oil royalties on some land a few counties over that my great grandmother left my dad.He didn't even know she had left it to him. That's gonna pay the note and then some. If it wasn't for that Id be gettin dare I say a F@&D R*N%ER or a carfor the mileage. About the 4X4, the only thing I really go muddin with is my 4-wheeler. They're a lot easier to fix than a truck if youtear something upon the trail. But that's just my opinion. I like how 4X4's look, but that's just not me I guess.
