Default Tires

Alright i want an opinion on what tires yall run and how you like them. I want to get the 35" BF Goodrich's cause they have good tread, dont have to much road noise and are a decent on/off road tire for what im gonna be doing with it. I was gonna do with some more meaty tires but not sure on the tread life of those things and i dont wanna buy new tires once a year. So let me know what yall got and how they are workin for ya. Im going to get them tomorrow so please respond fast

Here we go again!!!

BFG's are a good tire, not great in any aspect, but good at just about all.
My personal choiceis the Dick Cepek Fun Country II's. They are marketed as a "hybrid" between an A/T & M/T tire, and I find that to be very true. Very long wearing, fairly quiet and good highway handling. At the same time they will play off-road with just about anything on the market except Boggers & Claws. They achieve this by having the center of the tread resemble more of an aggressive A/T pattern, while the inner & outer tread have a more M/T like block setup, coupled with really aggressive side biters that don't come into contact when on pavement.
A great tire for the daily driver who still wants to play hard with the guys on the weekend...

awww hell.....just go for 36x13.50R20 super swamper IROK RADIALS.... THAT'S WHAT I DID....sounds like a tank going down the road...and surprisingly...after 8K miles...still very very good tread for a swamper. and they wear really good....but for you.....I had the 275/60R20 cooper zeon ltz's and they were great tires....quiet on the road...good for the mud too....there are different sizes but unsure of them all....and really cheap 175.00 each......heres a pic of my 06 with my 2.5" leveling kit with 36's and NO RUBBING! this is before I got the spacers and body lift

I've got 14k on mine and they still have just as much tread as the day I put them on. Mickey Thompson/Dick Cepek's (two divisions of same company) seem to last forever. The set of Mickey Thompson MTX's I had on before the lift and Cepek's had 29k on them when I took them off and they easily had 80-85% of the original tread, in fact I sold them for half what I gave for them new.
I've got a hunting buddy I talked into getting the MTZ's (Mickey Thompson Mud Terrains) after he wore a set of Maxxis' tires out in under 20k. He's got close to 40k on these and has better than half the tread left.
Now that I have a Grand Cherokee for my daily driver I kinda want to go REAL aggressive on tne truck's tires with a set of Baja Claws, but I can't justify pulling the Cepek's off while they still look new. At this rate, though, it'll be years before I have a set of "Claws"...

i definatly believe what ever hammer says, but for once im defying him and not going with his decission of the dick cepeks, but im gonna somewhat take a gamble and go with pro comp xtreme a/t's. hammer has heard a lot of bad things, but every person besides him that has them has only said very good things about them. so like i said im gonna get them, if they work out great...thats awesome, if they dont..then ill be looking into another company for tires.

Before you buy 'em, go to tire specific forums, there are some good reviews on them, but poor reviews outnumber good ones about three to one. It's funny, because the good reviews are great, you'd think the tire is the best one made. And the bad ones are really bad. I've never seen such a wide swing on a single product.
I do however, challenge you to find a poor review of a Mickey Thompson or Dick Cepek tire.

The ATZ also consistently gets great reviews and I know a couple of guys with them. I know a home heating/AC guy works out of his own truck, a Chevy Diesel 4x4, with them who swears by them. 99% on pavement use with 45k on them and they still look great. A solid choice in a tire that's a bit less aggressive than the FCII's, if you are primarily a pavement person with an occasional trek on light trails and a little mud, they'd be a great choice...
