I was worried about that (having read the postsaying to myself"holy crap!!!"), but a quick look under my truck showed some rust on the shaft resolving the concern for me. However, after doing the 4.56's in my truck the guy who did my gears (tech at a local shop www.jackit.com- they do a ton of gears for the local rock crawlin' crowd)mentioned "increased harmonics at higher speed cruising" and said he heard it with allot of Dodges, also noting "at least you don't have that worthless AL shaft some of the Dodges have"...The tech said it likely wouldn't be an issue, butgave me a reference to a local shop that makes custom drive shafts and does balancing in the event I was interested....for about $50 (can't remember exactly) I took them the shaft, they did a quick hit with media to clean it up, re-balanced it (saying it was way off), then hit it with some spray paint and gave it back. After all this I can say the truck feels a little smoother <70MPH, but the difference is very little (i.e. I had to pay very close attention to tell anything if at all)...I guess perhaps the peice of mind, and a cheap paint job on the drive shaft was worth it

Anyhow...for those w/the AL shaft, I wonder if a steel shaft off of a 2500 like mine would fit for you ? I have no clue as to the the dimensions, etc. so you'd have to check, but you might be able to find one at a boneyard (junkyard) for cheaper than a custom shaft...dunno..

these dodge trucks draw attention for some reason. I've had this thing three weeks and had to show three people wtf is up. first was a ford taurus. why in the hell he wanted a piece of me I dunno. but it was still funny. second was a pontiac sunfire with a fartcan and next was a neon. he was a dumb *** and about killed himself because he doens't know what he's doing. tried passing me on a hill and another car crested while he was in their lane.

Because it is a badass truck, and they look cool (and BIG) so people want to make themselves feel cool like us....

I got the 3.55s thinkin about going with the 4.10s on my 2wd becuase I think the largest tire I am going to use would be a 33, but I am not sure, what do you guys think?

I think it's the perfect choice for combination of power and mpg's for tires from stock size to 33"...

How would the 4.56's be with stock wheels/tires?What would be the downfalls of the 4.56's VS. the 4.10's?
