08 4.7's have dual plugs
My undrstanding is that all '08 4.7's are 16 spark plug setups. The 8 secondary plugs mount into the sidewall of their respective cylinders, and as a result are lower and harder to find than the 8 primary plugs. If you look carefully you should be able to see evidence of their presence.
Hardest damn plug swap I've ever done in my life is this Hemi!!![:@]
So much so, in fact, that I think I'm gonna pay for it done next time. I don't recall EVER not changing plugs myself (or wires, etc. either for that matter). But I don't do the tranny fluid changes myself anymore either (too damn messy) and I've got them on the same schedule, so I think next time it's gonna be paid for.
Besides, it can't hurt to take it to the dealer once every 30k (if they are honest) it's not a bad idea to have it up on a lift and a different set of eyes check for any issues I may have missed over a couple years of doing my own maintenance & mods...

for wires, I keep hearing about "shorty" wires. Is there a negative side to getting these? They'd be just as easy to change as stock, and don't cost more. supposedly help with performance a bit, probably around .025 hp or something.
the hardest plug switch i've ever doen was my dad's transverse v6 lexus rx300. damn those rear three plugs. fronts took 10 min total, back took 1/2 hour each!
Shorter, thicker & better insulated wires is always a good thing.
I had a '98 Grand Cherokee (ex's daily driver) and the stock stereo always "whined" when you hit the accelerator. VERY ANNOYING! The more gas you gave it, the louder the whine when trying to listen to radio, cd's, etc. Dealer told me it must be a bad ground in the amp and after they "fixed" it twice, I gave up on it.
At 30k I did the plugs (with Bosch Platinums - unlike the Hemi, the 4.0 straight six LOVES Bosch Platinums) and a good set of aftermarket wires. The whine completely went away and my fuel economy went up about 2 mpg also...
