STS Turbo vs Procharger
Forged internals are not necessary if you keep the boost down to <7lbs with good tuning.
Centrifical superchargers perform similar to a turbo.
They use a belt that spins faster as rpms go up so they have the same problem of less boost at the start.
Only a true roots blower like kennebell makes full boost at lower rpms.
Very successful tuning for the hemi is being done with the SMT-6 on some and the SCT Flash on others. I use the SCT Flash. Both require larger injectors.

Nobody has sucessfully cracked the codes yet to allow a decent tune??
Al.
I found that both have their good and bad qualities and are pretty much evenly matched. the procharger centrifigual design is basicly like a supercharger/turbo because it provides lowend tourqe along with some topend power that is consitent. most people believe that the procharger creates parasitic loss like other superchargers, but when not under boost it is as if it is not even there similar to the turbo. It requires less lines to run in instilation because it is self-contained. The sts turbo sytem has almost zero turbo lag and actually puts out more power the problem we had at the shop i work at was the tunning of the turbo system which was corrected but it takes a trial error period to get it to run at peak performance unless you have a tunning shop that is familiar with the system. Also the turbo on the gas motor like most of you said is a problem with towing due to exhaust temp. I like both systems but for my truck I am going to go with a procharger kit that you can get for about 5,300.00 depending on where you get it they do have partial kit for less money but it would require you to get the fuel delivery system upgraded as well. Now for my 77 vette that has a LQ4/LS2 in it im going to go with the sts system simply because the purpose of my vette is to go fast not tow and run shop errands. It all comes down to the fact that if your not going to use your truck to haul heavy parts/loads tow trailers etc. and just want to go fast get the turbo but i suggest you find a qualified tunning shop to tune the car for you it will just give you the easy of not doing it. If you are like me and have to haul and transport cars/parts etc. and on the weekends want to go race or show up some mustangs, camaros, gto, or srt8s or maybe a stock srt10 at a stoplight every once and a while I would go with the procharger. Its your choice!

supercharger is definitly in my future. it might be a little ways off. but it WILL be installed in the future.
i have done alot of research on the 2 and like dirty said, the super is right for atleast 90% of truck owners.

You brought back an old post, but since your current with it on your truck I must say that the Procharger should be chosen for 90% of the guys. Unless your at the track, Procharger hands down for a Truck for everyday use. It will give better gas mileage when around town and on highway when easy at throttle.
I agree though about the procharger being right for 90% of the people on here.
he didn't say a properly sized turbo vs any supercharger, he said STS Turbo vs Procharger. with as much hp as the STS pushes, i can just about guarantee you it isn't the "properly sized" turbo you speak of.

you do realize that in the other thread you called dog out in everyone agreed with dog and said you're dreaming, right?

On top of all that...I never even compared the MPG gains from either one, just that the Centri s/c would give better gains than stock.
