Any body got an i dea why I would get denied?

We suggest that you contact your selling dealership along with the
proof
of ownership to obtain the build sheet of your vehicle.

In addition, we would like to inform you that if you have any question
unrelated to the security system of a vehicle, we may be able to
provide
insight about a specific component which was included in the original
equipment at the time of manufacture.

If we can be of any assistance to you in the future for some other

So???? What's the point? I agree with them, I wouldn't want people getting my VIN and seeing what i got in my truck, even if there is nothing special. Go to your local dealer like they suggested

 

The reason you would get denied is due to the fact that your VIN # is like your Social Security #. With that info, someone could legitimately screw you over or manage to forge documents showing ownership.

It's just them protecting their backside.

 

Just a guess, but anybody could e-mail them a VIN...going to the dealer probably provides some security. They didn't say you couldn't have it, just that you had to get it differently.

Your email was probably short and general and since they could not prove you were the real owner, they did not want to release any information. Contact the dealer where you bought the truck.

 

My point was that I have read about many people on here emailing dodge to gain that information and not having any problems.

 

My first attempt I was denied as well until I contacted a dodge dealership for some service work and they updated Dodge's computers with my ownership information. Once that was done, I got my build sheet

 

I go tblown off the first time I asked for it (no response at all). Once I sent another one asking why I got blown off, they sent an apology along with the build sheet.

 

Ok maybe I am oblivious, but what is a build sheet, and what info does it provide that I might want about my truck?

 

It was what was originally fitted to your truck, when it was first at the factory.
It could be either, what a previous first owner had requested and had fitted during the trucks build up,or a new owner wanting to know what it came with direct from the factory.
