Default I know you hear this lots, but... another exhaust question.

Alright, so I've been looking around for an exhaust for a while now, and I think I'm going to go for the AT3030 for my 04 hemi. I want to run duals out the side in front of the rear wheel. I initially wanted one out each side, but I'm betting that it would be way too much of a pain to move the gas tank. Anyways, after looking around AT's site, I couldn't find either a single in/dual out or a dual in/out. I don't know if I'm just looking in the wrong place or what, but I guess I'll have to go with two 3030's? Obviously, I don't know a whole lot about this kinda stuff, so if you guys could toss some information at me without making me feeltoo stupid, I'd really appreciate it haha

Anyways, thanks in advance

Tony.

It looks like that muffler is only going to be offered in a single in/single out style. Have you called them by chance to confirm this? Anyways, if it is a single/single out, you could always have an exhaust shop make you a y-pipe off of that muffler so you could have your two pipes coming before the rear tire. If that doesn't interest you, then your next option would be running a "true dual" set-up. This would mean you would have new piping coming off of each manifold. You would need to buy two of the 3030 mufflers, two catalytic converters if you wanted to run those. Also, usually guys will run an h or an x pipe to balance out the sound and flow of a true dual. It's up to you with how you want to run it. The true dual is going to cost more to run because you'll need to buy double of everything, and eliminate the y-pipe from your manifolds. A y-pipe to me sounds much easier, and it will sound great and be easier and cheaper to do. Nobody would ever know that it's y'd from the muffler unless they looked underneath the truck which is highly unlikely, and you'll get your dual outlet look.

Alright, I definately like the sound of the y-pipe alot better than buying double of everything. Thanks alot!

Oh, and one last thing: how loud is the 3030 going to be without a resonator? It won't be too outrageous will it?

I wish I knew, but I've never even heard of that muffler before. Personally, I run a flowmaster super 44 with longtube headers and no cat, and it is extremely obnoxious. I don't know what your aiming for, but going on youtube is usually the best option you have for getting a feel for it.

Alright. I used to have a flowmaster 40 series on my 84' chrysler fifth ave. Haha it sounded pretty rad, that thing had a 5.2L v8 in it. Got alot of looks rolling down the street in a boat sounding like that.

if you want the dual out in front of the rear wheel, try gibson' supertruck exhaust. they got a si/do setup and it sounds pretty frekin good. it's not obnoxious though. you can hear that on youtube, or possibly their website.

the AT is only offererd in single in/out. I have only heard the AT 3030 installed on trucks with headers and high flow cats and it is loud, not sure if it would be quieter with the stock manifolds/cats.You dont have to move the gas tank to run exaust out the drivers side.
