Thiers no comparing the performance of a 5.7 in a charger, vers a hemi in a Ram and by no means is a hemi powerd Ram slow.

Hemi Chargers are putting 270-280 to the wheels. But they are also over 1000 lbs lighter and a hell of a lot more aerodynamic.....

The weight of the vehicle has nothing to do with power to the wheels.

More weight only slows it down because its harder to get moving fast.

My 04 4X4 QC with only CAI, catback exhaust and 4.56 gears made 267.5 at the rear wheels.

Truck had around 5000 miles on it.

Its the automatic that steals all that power.

The LX cars( charger, magnum, etc..) are also using a different/better tranny than the rams

They may have a Mercedes 5 speed autostick but they are still loosing 22-25% of their hp before it gets to the wheels, which is a lot by todays standards. The Hemi looses roughly 70 hp and the 3.5 looses 70-80 hp.The amount of powerlossis a very sore subject on the charger forums...

The Hemi Ram does have some nuts though. I just wish it wasn't loosing so much in the drivetrain...

gas powerd trucks are not efficent users of h/p when compared to a car.

Not always, Titans put 315 at the crank and 290 at the wheel stock, Tundras put 381 at the crank and 330 to the wheel. its all in the drive train.

I was not refering to the power to the wheels when I mentioned weight/aerodynamics. I was refering tothe quote about performance in the Charger vs the Ram with the same engine...

Ya there's alot of talk about thetorque converterrobbing most of the power but I have yet to see a dyno that compares the stockT.C. to an aftermarket one.
