I have an 05 TR Ram QC with the 5.7 Hemi. I was lookin into getting a superchip for it but I had a few questions before I did.. With gas prices Im trying to watch stompin on the gas. With the 87 setting in the SC do you get better gas mileage and a noticable power increase??? Or is the better gas mileage only in the performance setting?? Adding the more HP and people talk about stiffer shift points. Does it do damage to the tranny?? I already had it go out once, not really looking to damage it again.. Anything else I need/should know??? Thanks!

I never used the 87 setting. When I was somewhat stock (just headers, exhaust, cai) I used 89 tune and I really didnt notice much increase in MPG. After I installed my cam I started using the performance tune and I am getting about 3-4 more MPG, maybe the performance tune would work good on a stock vehicle MPG wise; butt IDK. The shifting is firmer, but I feel it holds the gear too long; so im really not a fan of the superchips shifting. If you decide to get superchips let me know, I should be selling mine within the next few weeks; im upgarding to SCT

 

I have the sc on my truck with the performance setting. I have noticed about an increase of about 1-2 mpg, and on the stock or 87 tune I lost that. I do not have any other mods to help with the chip yet though.

 

On economy setting you went down 1-2 mpg from before getting the SC?

 

On economy I saw no gain at all and maybe a 1 mpg loss compared to the mpg before installing the sc.

 

Whats the differnce between the Flashpaq and the Cortex??
