HI! i'm new here. Got a problom.. thought maybe you guys could help me out. It's a 2003 4x4 with almost 99,000 miles on it. Today i was towing a trailer with just a Yamaha R6 on it and it started to slip in ond out of O/D 2 or 3 times and then would not come out of 3rd gear (even when i stopped). pulled over and put it in park and shifted to reverse and it jumped back, then shifted to drive and it jumped forward (still in 3rd). turned it off for about 30 seconds, shifted into drive it was fine until i reached 45-50mph, back to square one. 6 hours later (thought it may of just been hot. didnt get the trans temp light tho) i go drive it again.. same thing. on back roads 30-40mph everything was fine but when i pulled onto a straight road hit 45-50mph again it did the same thing. Yes, I checked the fluid (before my trip and after it started acting up) and it was on the dot perfect. anyone else had this happen?? im probaley gonna take it to a shop or two tuesday. wanted to see what you guys had to say first. I dont think it's anything major (i also aint a mechanic). all advise would be greatly appreciated.

have you always towed with the TCC engaged? My buddy works at a dodge dealership and he tells me the pumps go out on these trannies all the time it could be number of things...clutches slipping, maybe it overheated...bad solenoids...

 

Sounds like bad shift solenoids. On mine I got a code saying low tranny fluid pressure. Other was to check the computer. Mine was under warranty but guy at work had is done by tranny shop for $300.
