if anything, they'll be more willing to settle with you when there's a 4500 cash incentive, cause it goes straight to them.

They are selling trucks for 12k + off sticker. I would call that well below the dealer invoice.
I bought my 08 QC Hemi 2WD new for 22k with a sticker of 34k. I will bet my next paycheck that 22k is a hell of a lot lower than the invoice the dealer paid for the truck. The dealer is still making money on the sale or they would not be selling it for that price.

As for the OP, get on ebay and see what new 08's are going for. New 2WD QC Hemis are going for 20-22k and QC Hemi 4x4's are going for 24-27k. If your dealer will not give you that price, buy one on ebay, pay a grand to have it shipped to you and save the 6-10k you would have paid more at your dealer.

Off sticker is not below dealer invoice! And how could they still be making money on the sale if they were selling it for less then they paid for it?? Someone please explain!

Are you tradeing in the 05? If so, they are going to take it in on trade?

Don't be in a hurry. The dealer has something going on here and your going to pay for it. There's no way you payment is only going to increase $50 a month for the same length of time. It's your money but in another 3 or 4 years your going to be tired of making payments and reality will set in. I bought a left over 07 QC Hemi SLT for $19,890 including tax and license. The sticker was $32,780. Spend your money wisely it is very difficult to make.

Invoiceon these trucks isonly about 2-4k below sticker. See the link below. Actual dealer invoice pricemay differ a little from this website but it will be in this ball park.So if the price you pay is 10-12k below sticker, then you paid way less than invoice. No dealer is going to make 10-12k on any vehicle unless they add a bunch of aftermarket stuff or put a huge markup on it and then sells it to someone who pays full price + markup. Example: New Challenger, new Nissan GTR, Ford GT-500 etc. Most Dealers take a loan or lease the amount of each vehicle on their lot from a bank. This means that each month that a car/truck sits, it costs them money.
Dealers still make money several ways to include:
holdback(bonus money each month from Dodgeif they meet a quota on a model)
rebates
add ons
extended warranties
low ball trade in value
negative equity from trade in
market adjustment(markup)
financing.

They may take a hit on each truck they sell but they will make it up in other ways. Dealers make most of their money from service departments. Do you honestly think they are cutting big Dodge acut of the $80 an hour labor they charge you?

Invoice on a truck is a scam dealers came up with. They will sell it to you less then "invoice" because they don't pay invoice. The more they sell, the bigger discounts they get from the manufactor.
