now for a 2500, whats the better way to go? 5.7 hemi...5.9 diesel or 6.7 diesel? considering diesel prices and how much more expensive a diesel truck is to buy than a gas one

5.9 diesel is no longer available in the 07 and up trucks it's all 6.7L. the jury is out on the diesel atm. with the 5.9L it was a definate yes go with diesel. but the 6.7L is kinda eh. It's a great engine and all but doesn't get teh fuel mileage the older 5.9 did and has a lot more emmission control on teh engine. so it's kinda odd. i'd wait for an 09 2500 and listen on the CTD forum about how they are doing

lol they did NOT have more emission control on the older diesel motors. As of 07 these things are bogged down with emission garbage and weak sulfur content fuel. Diesel motors arent what ppl think a diesel motor should be anymore.

i think ben meant the 6.7 has more emissions stuff. i took an 07 5.9 for a test drive before i bought mine and it hauled *** pretty good. the trans and engine on those seemed like they couldn't be too much better of a match for each other. the 6.7s i think now have mercedes transmissiosn in them, which may sound bad, but mercedes is one of the biggest makers of medium duty trucks out there, so its probabyl a good thing.
