02 Ram 1500 A/C Problem.
Hey guys, I know I've posted about this on here before, but I've been having a problem with the air conditioning on the passenger side of my truck. The driver's side blows nice, cold, and strong, but the passengers side is a lot weaker and not as cold. I took it to my local dealership, and one of the guys checked it out for me for free.
Said he's never seen a problem like that before, all my fuses are good, the fan runs properly, and the blend door down on the passenger side is functioning correctly.
Anyone have any ideas? Any input is greatly appreciated.

What a co-inky-dink! I am having the same problem with my '02 Quadcab.
I don't know anything about a "blend door down on the passenger side"? Does anyone know how you gain access to the area under the dash?
A mechanic friend of mine is going to take a look at it on Monday. He already topped off a minor low freon condition but he feels the hot/cold blend valve is malfunctioning. Anyway, if I find out what's going on I will post it here.

Yeah, I got one of those 20 dollar LED bars for my cluster, took it apart, and put it in there. Had to, because some of the lights in my cluster burned out and I didn't feel like going to the dealership to get the new bulbs, works pretty great at lighting everything up! Very easy install.

I have the same exact truck and it did the same exact thing you are describing. I just changed the compressor fan motor and added some more freon. It blows cold air now. Right before my AC went out, it was blowing colder on the driver side and hardly blowing on the passenger side. It could be that your compressor fan motor ( 12 inch bladed motor on side the radiator) is getting bad. I learned that in '03 dodge changed the design of the compressor fan motor from the previous '02. You will need a whole new assembly and new wiring connector to connect new '03 fan to the '02 wiring. You may run into this problem in the future. Also, it may be that your freon is just low! The first time my ac went out with the passenger side blowing hotter it was just a matter of added freon and it started blowing cold on both driver and passenger side. The second time, I had to change out the compressor fan motor as I mentioned before. Hope this helps!

OK... So I have an 03 with similar symptoms that showed up a couple of weeks ago. It was working fine then suddely it acted like it would not blow any air at all. The the next day it was blowing like crazy, just not cold. On the way to work Monday it acted like it was fine and ready to freeze me out again, but has not blown very cold at all ever since. I am open to suggestions on where to start looking on this....it's 95 out now and if I have to take my horses anywhere it will NOT be fun.

Okay guys, a few thoughts. I have an '02 QC 4x4 and after posting last Friday on the 20th, that it was blowing warmer on the passenger side, I had a friend that is a mechanic add freon. He said it was down a little, topped it off. It now SEEMS to be blowing colder on the right side than it was before. But then again, its been a lot cooler here than when this problem first started happening.
I am curious about where I could find out about this "recall" in 2002 or maybe it was a Technical Service Bulletin (TSB)? Do any of you know where there is an online list of them? Would the right side 12" fan be noticeably turning slower? How about testing the voltage to it with a voltmeter?
