Default gas

I saw people talking in the main forum about how some of them got better gas mileage with 87 octain gas than regular, and was wondering if anybody had any experience with this in the 3.7?

What's regular compared to 87? In almost all states the octane rating starts at 87 and goes up.

I'd have to ask the same question. Unless you are in high altitude places like Denver, CO where low grade is 85, 87 is usually as low as it gets.

I believe I just filled up with 81. I don't normally look at the octain ratings any more but as I remember it they are 81, 87, and 91 but I will check some time. Octain don't really matter with the question anyway though. I was wondering weather it would get better mileage with the plus instead of regular.

Hey Retard, regular unleaded is 87. It goes 87, 89, 91, and it is hard to find 93 anymore. Anything after that is specialty gas. So if you filled up with regular, it was 87. (I have known this guy for more than 15 years, so its ok for me to call him names)

true, but for some reason my gas mileage just went down the toilet, bad. I didn't change the way I drive or anything but it barely hits 12 now. Who knows, maybe its all the corn junk they are putting in the gas now but I'm not for sure cause now its hard to tell which stations use it and which don't.

You could have a bad O2 sensor or something like that. I dont think a dirty air filter would make it drop that much, and btw the stations now have to post if they put ethanol in their gas.Loves uses it and 90% of the Conocos do too, I think Shell is the only one right now that is pure gas, not sure about 711 havent filled up there in awhile

But anyway, it will say "contains up to 10% ethanol" or some **** on a little sticker, usually near the buttons (retard) lol
