That'll fix everything. [sm=badidea.gif] Well, Nissan is having Dodge to build their next truck so the Japanese trucks must be so much better[sm=icon_stickpoke.gif]

You probably wouldn't be having these kind of warranty questions if you had purchased a Foreign vehicle.........the truck is practically new, they should fix it without any questions whatsoever........what is this nonsense.....?

Maybe you'll be one of the fortunate ones, who were able to get a vehicle that will go the entire warranty period and beyond without any problems....
All vehicles have their own set of inherent problems and issues.I have a very good friend who bought a 'Yota Tundra. It has had a cam problem and a rear diff. issue. He's had it for over a year and until recently had literally spent more time down and at the dealership than he's had use of it.
My Dodge has been relatively problem free for just over four years now. I did my homework and have replaces/upgraded many of the components that are problematic in our trucks. Also, I've repaired minor issues myself, even if they were warranty issues. I'm of the mindset that I'd rather do it myself and KNOW it's done correctly. I may not have the experience that most mechanics have, but I care about my own vehicles much more than someone else would...
Now back to the original poster: It's Monday, how did you make out at the dealership?

We don't know where it went wrong, it was always kept in a garage, and washed and waxed religiously. That's what i got. As far as quality goes...just in the past few years toyota has sold more cars than they ever have, therefore the quallity of the productgoes down. As far as dodge and the paint quality, we bought a new ram to replace the 94 ram 1500 that had 350,000 mi on it. It was a good little truck, as far as the paint on it, i couldn't tell you cause we had several accedents in it, so it was painted several times. I guess that every auto screws up. We have had our share of problems with GM too.

The problems that Toyota is having is because they are now selling vehicles in high volume and have discovered that quality isn't so easy when making the higher volume.
And yes, I am new to a Dodge truck. I had a 2001 F150 before that and it was a good truck. No major issues with it at all. It was a 5.4L 4x4. The only reason I bought a Dodge was for the lifetime powertrain warranty. My back isn't so good these days and working on my own vehicles is becoming harder to do and still be able to walk upright the next day. I do like the truck so far. There is no way to predict what will fail at any given time. Most parts on a vehicle are built by someone other than the manufacturer. Almost everything is outsourced these days.
I may or may not have problems with the Dodge.
My Mustang has 163K on it and the engine hasn't been apart except where I popped a head gasket from too much NOS and not enough fuel(only wet kits from now on!!) and when I put a bigger cam it it a month ago. This car has been abused since I bought it new. One a week at the drag strip and running slicks and NOS alot of the time. The original clutch went 130K and I have the limited slip unit rebuilt once under warranty. I haven't even broken the original T-5 yet. There are good American vehicles out there.
As for the original problem, I too would try another dealer. Some are all about customer service, some are not.

lxman, I'm in the same boat..having been involved in a serious MVA, i am limited as to what i can do on my vehicle.. I used to enjoy changing my own oil because i knew it was being done right......Now i rely on the dealerships to do the majority of work on my vehicle......
Jstmahoney, I am not the only one encountering problems with the paint on his vehicle. If you do a search on this forum you will see that there are many Dodge Ram owners with the same problems.....and with the economy the way it is right now, the last thing i want to do is spend money on a paint job, that should have been done correctly the first time...especially when i plunked down the money i did to purchase the truck. When i initially brought this issue up, some one (Can't remember who right now) said i shouldn't take my vehicle through a drive thru car wash...Now what kind of ridiculousness is that? When you buy a vehicle, you have to check with the dealer, to see if you can go thru a car wash............is that how there making vehicles now? My wife has a Mercedes Benz that's 12 years old, she doesn't even have to use touch up paint on the vehicle........and the paint still looks good, and she goes to any car wash available........At least I am choosey, i go to the Brushless car washes.
What gets me is this, people who work at these manufacturing plants always say, "KEEP THE JOBS HERE, BUY AMERICAN MADE" then when you buy American they give you CRAP, then want you to accept it....I think that's CRAP.....If i buy something, and it's CRAP, then i won't buy it again...I'll take my money else where.......
