Default Torsion Bar Leveling Kit

I went to 4wheelparts today and talked about what I can do to level my 4X4 without keeping the torsion bars cranked up. Of course they recommened new torsion keys leveling kit. How I understand this works, it basically allows you to put more-pretension than the stock keys which will cause the lift.

Is this the same thing as having your stock keys cranked up to level the truck? If it does, the rest of your front suspension will still be operating out of factory spec (damaged ball joints, worn turning stops, excessive force onCV's)....so basically no difference from what I can tell. Any advice will be helpful.
