Possible blend door fix.....
well...I picked up my new actuator/blend door kit......and when trying to do this myself...I got frustrated and started tinkering with the old one since Im too lazy to take the dash apart....but anyways....I broke the plastic grill on the blend door shell and reached into it and pulled the "broken" door out....after taking the old door...and just the door out only.....my A/C works like never before....and the heater works just fine too....so what exactly does this "blend door do?" seriously...now that the door is gone when I switch from each setting....it's fast to switch with hardly any delay.....I may be blabbing here but I just left the old one in....just took the blend door out of the system....works for me......and it saved me 800 that the dealer quoted me...cuz it's an all day thing....and it took me 1.5 hrs...total.
I don't see how your AC can work with the heater core exposed all the time. That's all that door does it either lets air through the heater core or the air bypasses it.
If your hot/cold selector still works normally, the door you pulled out did something else.

The problem you were having before... what were you experiencing exactly? Because right now I don't get any air for **** on the passenger's side.. and if this fixed it, I'm definately doing it.
Don't tell me I'm gonna have blend door issues on the Truck!
I had to pull out the dash and replace blend doors and evaporator on the Grand Cherokee in November. Was an all-weekender for me.
You wouldn't believe all the negative crap about the blend doors on the Jeep forums. Seems like EVERYBODY with dual climate control has had to replace the whole thing and usually well before 50k miles. And of course Chrysler's approach is that there is no problem...

I dont have dual climate control....it's the "recirculation door/housing"...the door when closed butts up against I believe the firewall.....the heater works just fine that is actually a whole different side of the unit...the heater/cooling door is located right behind the controls.....the part that I messed with was right behind the glove box....the "blend door" was laying at the bottom of the box broken...so I pulled it out......the problem I had diagnosed was that when a/c was on I barely got any air out of the vents on FULL BLAST!! becuz of the door broken and laying over the "air passage" once removed it was like having a bored out a/c unit LOL!!!!
Man, I really wish you would have taken pics of the process. I guess now I'm gonna have to go take my glove box out and look for the blend door you're talking about.
Did you have to remove your entire dash or just your glove box?

So I just busted apart my passenger side dash, and unfortunately, my blend door's working fine apparently.
I'm going crazy trying to figure out why my passenger side doesn't blow as hard or cold..
