Default Discount Tire vs DiscountTireDirect?

So, need some new tires. Either going with the Nitto's or the Cooper Zeon LTZ's. Im stumped as to whether I should get them through my local Discount dealer or buy them on DiscountTireDirect and save a few hundred bucks... Is the only difference that I won't get the Balance and free lifetime rotations?

Im a college kid so it would be great to spend $850online,rather than $1100 through the local store, but at the same time I dont have my own shop, or garage for that matter, where I have tools readily available to me to do things like rotations, etc. So I am unsure as to the best option.

Where do you think I should buy from?

at discounttire.com you will find once you put the items in your shopping cart that it gives you an option to see what the "out the door" price will be and you will have to choose a store near you. You then take that printout to your store and they will match the price. It helpful because it also gives you the various inventories of the stores around you telling you whether or not this store or that store has the tires you want in stock. That way you wont waste your time going to the wrong store fi your like me and you want your tires the day you go down there.

Yeah, Ive looked at that. If I just get the tires, the install, free rotations, balance, etc, it comes to about $1050.00. If I get the additional 4 certificates for free tire replacement it comes out to almost $1200 out the door at my local store.

Get the warranties on all the tires!!! Best thing in the world that they do. If you ever get an unfixable tire they replace it for like $35 instead of the $150+ per tire. I always get them and it has saved me big $$$ in the long run.

I do my own rotation in the driveway. Just pull the spare down, replace the first tire with the spare, take that tire to the next location, and so on until you get back to the original location, and put the spare back. Takes 15 minutes on average.

Oh really... thats going to be a neat trick with the 20's on your truck. Especially since not only is the spare a big black ugly steel wheel, but there is no way for you to carry the "non-spare" where the spare goes, it would have to go in the bed of the truck. Besides the tires on our trucks are quite a bit heavier and a bigger pain in the *** than normal tire/wheel combos so I find it easier to let the guys at discount do it since its free anyway. But hey, if you want to drive around with one black wheel and 3 nice shiny wheels for the next... oh 20,000 miles or so, then whatever floats your boat dude.

I did what vipersforsale said. I looked at rims and tires for my wifes Tahoe and online they had them on sale, so I took that to the store and they matched the price with no problem at all, and the best thing about doing it locally is if you have any problems you just go back to the store and they take care of it for you.

So are you guys saying get the total Out the door price from www.discounttiredirect.com and then take that in to my local Discount store and get them to match the price?

The thing is, that the online store does not include installation (obviously), and at my local Discount it says they charge $20 per tire for installation (and free lifetime rotations). Did they make you guys pay this ~$80 fee on top of the tire price?

No they didn't and they don't charge for install as far as I know. I went in with a printed out receipt for the price delivered to the door including shipping, which was still cheaper than buying it from the store and they just matched the price out the door for me, with the exception of the certs. Basically they reduced the price to match what I had. I think they have some wiggle room right off the bat. The one here says they will not be under sold, and as far as there service goes they are top notch.
