2008 4 wheel drive ?

Default 2008 4 wheel drive ?

Is anybody else having problems trying to engage there truck into4 wheel drive with there 5 position electronic shifter.It just doesn't seem to want to go into low.Maybe I'm not doing something right? Regards,iron

Have you put the transmission in neutral then selecting low?

Thanks for the reply.Yes I did try the neutral.I thought I would try out 4 wheel low to see if it worked and its a good thingI did because none of it works.I brought it to the dealer this afternoon and andthey had that deer in the headlight look.So I guess its service time on a brand new vehicle.Regards, Iron

Did you slow down to 2-3 MPH? If your rolling to fast it won't engage... and if you stop completly it somtimes won't go either..

Yeah 4 Lo is for very slow speeds, like below 10mph. Unless you are doing serious offroading you will probably never need it.

Stop, put it in neutral, then engage 4Lo, pause for a couple of secs in HI to let it switch over before you go to lo. If it does not work, roll te truck about a foot or so and repeat. Some times the gears are not lined up and it prevents it from switching over, rolling a very short distance with spin the gearbox a little bit to help line the gears up better.

My 08 is the same way. Sometimes the gears are not lined up to mess correctly.
