$24 dollar CAI????
Well if you buy the right filter from autozone they sell them with the filtered end caps. They also sell adapters for the end caps and an accordian tube you can attach to it. Doing this would allow for it to pull cool air and engine compartmentair but the first time you run through a deep puddle you don't hydrolock the motor.
My first hemi I used a 3x4" rubber plumbing coupler from homedepot cut an X in the side and forced the IAT into the hole. then got a 3x4" pcv coupler and conneted one of those accordian style intake hoses from autozone and put a filter on the end of it. Worked great and loved the whistle.

I tested my system out on the high water issue and found that since I only slipped the metal "tube" over the top of the 90 degree bend that hangs below the bumper, when you hit high water the water ends up forcing the tube from the bend and therefore never gets sucked up into the intake. I didnt know when I put it in that I unintentionally built in a safety too.
