You must have a REALLY heavy foot. I'm surprised the torque from normal driving can twist the shaft in half like that.

first time was the drive anglenot aligned properly.. second time i bought it for a local pick n pull.. maybe it was bad to begin with..one day i was driving and it began vibrating and i put new u-joints in it also and then i heard a pop and then it snapped..occasionally take this truck to the drag strip also... well i have another buddy with a '08 silverado with the 5.3 V8 and his shaft already snapped going about 100 on the freeway.. and he only has about 4k on his truck ...maybe im having bad luck

CHKN....

Where did you get your lowering springs for your truck? I'm not looking to slam it, but I want a more aggresive look.

My 04 came with a steel shaft. You are not the first to have driveshaft failure with the aluminum one. I would either get the steel shaft from MOPAR or get one made at a good shop.

as of this morning im having a steel shaft fabricated , the shop told me this is in no way rebuildable.. o and DEUCE... its a 2/4 mcgaughy's kit and i cut the front springs about half a turn, left the stock shackles with the flip kit, added rear air shocks, and put some toxic shocks up front ... next im adding a rear swaybar... i would advise getting djm suspension 2/4 kit ull be lower but not low low i would stay away from the Mcgaughy's kit unless u plan to do some welding or just buy 2 inch lowerring springs and lowering leaf springs from belltech but keep in mind if do any type of towing buy a air bag assist kit to keep from bottoming out

I have a 2005 1500 quad cab 2x4 with a 4.7L that has a vibration that i can feel in the steering wheel and the seat of my paints. Did you have this feeling before your shaft brook?
