Default amp install

working on installing an amp in my 06 QC w/infinity and ran into some problems, first i am keeping my stock head unit so i am using the high level imputs on the amp (Profile California 2400) it's not a high end amp i know but i had it laying arround. i originally removed the head unit and spliced the wires before the factory amp, this method did not allow any volume control, i checked and rechecked the wiring and polarity everything was hooked up correctly according to the wiring diagrams i downloaded. i got discouraged with that setup and decided to get my imputs after the amp right at the speakers so i could be sure i got the right wires. i now have volume controll but the factory speakers are louder than my 400 watt amp bridged! i realise that Profile isn't exactly high end equipment and it could very well be a bad amp just wondering on your opinions. in talking toa friend hethought mabey the crossover from the factory amp was filtering the output, he suggested hooking it up to the front speaker circuit wich is bass only anayway.

i have already decided on a new amp question is do i try it at the rear speakers or just go to the fronts? does anyone forsee any problems taking the high level imputs AFTER the factory amp? will i damage my shiny new amp by feeding it too much imput? thanks for your help!!

The output is lower to the rear speakers. For subs, you need to come off of the front door speakers since those are used as factory subs with the Infinity system.

Thanks for the reply, do you see any problems using line level imput from the fronts? is the factory amp pushing enough to damage the sub amp?
