Default Rear End Stutter

Since i've purchased my truck, every time i back out of the driveway, put in drive, turn the wheel and give it some gas, it feels like the rear end stutters (quick vibrations) for a few seconds. This only happens from a stop while turning, almost like the back wheels are quickly slipping and catching. Any ideas?

My dads 03 2500 does it and my 08 1500 does it too. It should be your Limited Slip Diff if you have one. Its because both tires are spinning at the same rate while you are turning quick...one has to give a little...so it either spins or does a chatter.

Change the fluid and be sure to add the friction modifier. It is the limited slip clutches chattering.

i love royal purple in the diff. and it already has the modifier in it. oh and with RP in the engine and in my differential i got about a 2mpg gain (hand calculated 1.7mpg)

Max-Gear is an ultra-tough automotive gear oil. It’s designed to maximize power and provide unsurpassed protection to heavily loaded gears. It makes gears run smoother, quieter, cooler and longer without overhauls.
Max-Gear outperforms other gear oils because it combines the highest quality synthetic oils with Royal Purple’s proprietary Synslide additive technology.
Max-Gear is recommended for use in truck, motor home / RV, and automotive front or rear differentials, manual transmissions, and lower gear units of marine engines that specify use of an API GL-5 or GL-4 fluid. All viscosities of Max-Gear are formulated with hypoid friction modifiers necessary for use in clutch or cone type differentials. No additional additives are necessary.

mmstar...do you work for RP? Just kidding. I might as well put RP Max-Gear in both diffs and transfer case then. I assume it's the same stuff for all three components.

haha. no i dont work for them or associated with them in any way. but i have used theyre products and love it. i mean of course your going to need theyre different fluids for different things. max gear for the diff and motor oil for the engine and atf for the trans. cant put max gear in everything haha. just making sure though but im pretty sure you know that! hopefully
