RE: reg cab rear speakers
Its a super easy install although you do have to drill a new hole because the cutout is not a 5-1/4 cut out, its a little bigger.
As for taking the door panels off, its simple as pie. Total time...it took me prob 15 minutes a door and that included pulling new speaker wires thru the accordians.
Really easy and makes a huge difference.

I really don't think there is space. I know there isn't the depth needed, but if you are willing to go a little more custom, I am sure you could make an extension ring and make it all fit. I know theres a lot of junk in that door (window motor, rails, door latches, connecting rods) I just don't think you'd find enough space for those.
4x6's you could do, but a 5-1/4 component set would sound better than that.

6x9 are not a good design for speakers, how is a oval shape going to push the same air as a smaller round speaker...my point is you never see oval sub woffers...

i had to laugh when i read this....6x9 are great speakers and are used throughout the auto industry, and as far as oval subwoofers....Boston Acoustics makes a set that will run circles around anything on the market. most of the dodge vehicles have 6x9 in the front doors and sound very good.

i was just curious about the 6x9s because you cant tell theres any speakers back there my factory ones are so quiet, even if i turn the balance all the way to the back, its about half as loud at best as the front speakers, and if i could fit the same size ones back there as in the front it would be a more balanced sound, and btw i dont have subwoofers back there and never will, dont listen to ghetto music, just country and a little southern rock

I have 6x9's in the doors, tweeters up by the oh **** handles, and subs. If your subs are any way halfway decent, then replacing the rear speakers is pointless. Your subs will just drown them out.
