Default Wheel Lock Key

Hey so today i got a friggen screw in my tire and when i bought the truck it didnt come with the wheel lock key, since it was repo'd and i got it at an auction. I cant get my tire fixed until i get that key and i dont think its very good to drive with a screw in my tire....How much should i expect to spend on a key? Or can i just go to dodge and will they take off the lugnut for free?

Keys only cost about $15, but if you don't know the code number, you won't be able to get one for it. I've heard you can get them off by jamming a socket that's just a little too small to fit around it. You should get them all off and replace them with regular lugs or a new set of locks or the same thing is bound to happen next time. A tire shop should be able to get them off for you.

My lock nuts have a slip ring around the outside to prevent the channel lock or the socket trick from working. Best bet is try the tire shop. They sometimes have a bunch of different keys that may work.
I would try a tire plug until you find a good solution to getting the locks off. You do not want to throw that screw and end up on the side of the road with a flat and no way to change it
Good luck

Short sentence, since that's all it can handle: plugs work fine.

Good tire shops and dealers have universal lock removal sets.

You can take the screw out and plug it in no time. I've run tires on my 4x4s and ATVs that I've plugged for years with no problem.
Then when you have time you can deal with the lock nut issue...
