well after getting good news about my truck today that i fixed it, i decided i would do some modding again. HAHA!! damn that modding bug! well i got 2 5" LED strips and removed the bulb in the liscense plate light. theyre white LED's kinda has the color of a white HID. and theyre not too bright which is good. pics are lighter than real life. its still pretty hard to read the liscense plate at night, but the pics are brighter.

 

are they tapped right into the old bulb socket or what? they look great, kind of accenuate your tailgate rather than liscense plate

 

yep. i cut the old bulb socket completly off. left enough wire if i ever wanted to hook it back up, and stuck the bulb socket back in the hole to keep water out. also got rid of the old lens' since i cracked mine trying to get them out. so i traced the old lens onto plexiglass and cut it to the same size with my grinder

 

can you paint me a pic for that? i know you love making those 4th grade diagrams on here haha

 

I think I'll take the lazy way out and buy the plug & play bulbs for that application.

Not quite the same as your license plate lights, but they are still installed on the plates as plate bolts.
Some might say a little ricer-ish????
They are still skulls though and therefore BADAS* ha ha ha.
We have to have white light to the front and red to the rear here in the UK.

do you guys know the actual bulb size needed for back there? i have looked for it online but cant find it... i wants to get some led's in the same spot but plug and play. superbrightleds.com may have the size if i can find out what it is lol. thanks
