For the Head Unit, Pioneer Premier is awesome, they have a few models with both ipod and bluetooth connectivity. Door Speakers, Ive replaced all for of mine with infinity middle grades. They sound clear but i think they would sound clearer if i had the dash tweeters. Digital Design is a higher quality mid-grade speaker, check them out. For a sub you can always try and find a slim-mount to minimize space required.

I was looking at the Pioneer DEHP700BT with built-in Bluetooth and USB iPod connection. I will check out the Digital Design speakers.
I listened to FOCAL speakers and they sounded good but wer're talking nearly $400 for a pair of 6x9s and a pair of 5-1/4s

My son had to JL w1's in his truck and they sounded awsome with nice smooth bass and filled the cab. THey were pushed by a JL 500/1. However he just sold them and his box and got a custom setup for more sound. He now has a JL 12w6v2 pushed by the same amp. That sub is amazing. It is too much for me, but the sound is tight, and clear. It will also make your steering wheel shake, lol. JL makes awsome products, look into the stealth box. They are high, but well worth it.

For the head unit most of them are bluetooth and iPod ready, but not stock. You have to by a adapter. I know with the pioneers you have to purchase an aditional unit to get the bluetooth/xm/ipod connectivity.

And I would strongly reccomend amping any door speakers that you get. It will be well worth it.

The Pioneer DEH-P700BT is iPod and Bluetooth ready. No adapters needed... that is attractive to me. The unit is 50Wx4 so do I really need to amp the door speakers? I am not using subs for reasons previously mentioned but taking a peek at the JL Strealthbox website may make me want to investigate it... thanks.

almost all h/u will need adapters pioneers are an exception. the 50wx4 is peak power. rms output is approx 22 w to each channel. If all you're doing is door speakers I'd get a 4 channel amp that pushes approx 45-80 rms watts per channel.

I will look into the amp of that wattage. Any suggestions?

I'm a fan of JL audio, kicker, MTX and fosgate. I also havea few recommendations for head unit but it's too long too type atm but trust me on this don't get teh 700. the 600 is better. you get a better dispaly which is worthwhile with ipod and the bluetooth is optional.

I will scope out the 600 and compare it.

I have been using the Crutchfield site. Yes, not the cheapest but it has been very educational and seems like a safe place to buy.
