2wd towing
i live in the uk and have been offered a 5.7 hemi for the right money however it is only 2wd
i tow a horsebox about 3ton it probably snows twice a year do i need a 4wd the driveway i pull the horsebox up is quite a hill and sometimes a bit slippy due to the small stones.is the back end too light to cope with this plus it has got 24" wheels on it with super low profile tires
has anyone got any advise

have to keep it short because my posts aren't going up.
3 ton trailer - no problem for ram
rims might be a problem depending on what they are tow rated at (how much can they haul)
rims also can get damaged on your stony driveway since there is very little rubber between rims and road.

I would go for a 4wd personally. Being on a slippery hill with low profile tires really doesn't lend itself to towing a 3 ton trailer. It can probably do it fine in the summer, but in the snowstorms you are probably going to have problems.
I don't think the 4wd would be needed. But those wheels have got to go, you need to get some tire flex going for any kind of traction, plus I'd bet the load rating on them is pathetic.
Also, if you get that vehicle, you might want to invest in a good aftermarket limited slip such as an Auburn Gear. With that and a little weight on the rear axle, you'd go through light snow almost as well as a 4wd...

The hemi will pull the three tons (US measurement). Don’t know your situation with snow or your terrain. I too have a gravel/stone drive and need 4wd to pull up uphill. Even without snow. The tongue weight will not help much if any when you are going up a steep incline. Could even make things worse. The 24” wheels and tires are not good for towing!
