Okay I guess I'm just dumb b/c I've had my truck almost 3 yrs and have never heard of this "power wire." Please someone inform me all about it. And as far as gears go, what gears are best and what kind of labor/cost would i be looking @? and how much would they help?
as for gears, i have a 456posi. it cost $1100, but $500 of that was the posi. about $300 for the gear, and $300 for labor. that $300 for labor is why i opted for the posi...why not? if labor wasn't affected. i got a good us.gear too.
anyways, love the gears. i have the posi, which gives me twice the burnout friction, and i could still spin them A BIT. here's a vid (BEFORE HEADERS and muffler change) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzjU5ZBPKCw
its a type of differential that sends the power to the wheel or wheels with the most traction, vs an open diffential which comes stock. an open differential sends power to the wheel that has the least traction. an open differential uses spider gears to achieve this, as a limited slip differential or posi as Eaton calls it uses clutches or gears.
oh and the power wire is supposed to advance the timing, but most people on here will tell you they are junk. Havent tried it myself, so I have no input on this
