Ok ... I have a 2007 Dodge Ram SLT 2500 QuadCab 4x4 ThunderRoad 5.7L HEMI ... Long vehicle model identification I know.

Although I bought the truck used, I have the build sheet from Chrysler and the Dodge VIP Summary Report to verify the above. Also, per the 2007 Sales Brochure, the ThunderRoad Value Group was available for SLT trim levels ... not ST trim levels.

Now ... as for badging ... I have "Hemi" badges on both the left & right fenders, "Ram 2500 Heavy Duty" badges on both the left & right front doors, a "Rams Head" badge on the tailgate just under the handle, and a "4 X 4" badge on the right hand side of the tailgate.

In comparing to other Ram's from 2005 - 2008 ... I found that some have the "ThunderRoad" badging on the doors or the tailgate, some have a "SLT" badge on the tailgate, and some have a "Heavy Duty" badge on the tailgate.

I can see where the "Heavy Duty" was moved from the tailgate to the new emblem on the front doors for 2007 models ... but what happened to the "ThunderRoad" & "SLT" badges?? I've seen both of these of 2007+ models ... but neither are on mine.

 

Buy them and put them on. Someone who had the truck before you prob didnt like the look with 7 or 8 badges. And down sized to 5.

 

There was a problem with the factory and the ThunderRoad emblems. Seems that a boatload of the trucks left the factory without the emblems installed. Every dealer that had a ThunderRoad was sent the emblems after they received the trucks and were supposed to install the emblems. The dealer that sold your truck originally did not put them on. If you need some PM me.....

 

The badging on the 2008 changed from the 2007 too. Instead of "Ram 1500" on the doors, it just says "RAM" now. If you have a 2500, I believe it says "RAM" with a "HEAVY DUTY/2500" over the "RAM." I haven't really compared mine to a 2007 on the tailgate, but I've heard that the Ram's Head on the "Big Horn" badge changed too.

 

Big horn badges also different in 08.

 

Nah ... the first owner was an older guy, older as in 65+, I'm pretty sure he wasn't in to the whole debadgeing scene. The truck was basically untouched ...

I've compared to trucks on places like eBay and Autotrader.com ... I've seen 'um just like mine and everywhere in between.


Do the badges look the same as they do on the trucks with them? Is the '07 badge location specified for the 2500?

 

Well .. my "Thunder Road" badge issue has been solved! Thanks to "Parts/Service"!

David sent me a pair of "Thunder Road" badges w/ a "Hemi" badge ... event threw in a pair of Dodge hats!! Ahh, the benefits of being a member of DodgeForum!

Detailer got "most" of my acid rain spots/damage off .. so I finally put my "Thunder Road" badge on. I decided to place it under the "4x4" badge where the traditional "SLT" badge would go. It was a little tricky as the factory placed "4x4" was not exactly straight with the body line ... it was optically straight, but when placing the longer "Thunder Road Hemi" badge, the difference was noticiable. So, I had to "adjust" a little .. I think Its at-least "optically straight" again.

Yeah, I guess it's cheaper to just put RAM instead of RAM1500.

It was also cheaper to just put the BIG HORN emblem on the tailgate instead of on the tailgate and both doors like the earlier models.
