FAO: New Truck Owners...

pros & cons
discounts will probably grow larger still on the 2008 models when the 2009 Rams are on the same dealership lots in September
remember a 2008 is
'instantly a year old used pickup'
the second you sign the papers.
yearly depreciation is one of the biggest costs of ownership, even larger than gasoline most years
judging by what happened with the new design 2008 Toyota Tundra
the 2009 Ram will be heavily discounted within 6 months
the 2009 Ram will probably have some reliability 'glitches'
while the 2008 has had many of the bugs worked out

My dad, my bro-n-law, and myself all bought new '08 dodge QC with the 4.7 this year. Mine in Feb., my dad in July, and my bro-n-law actually yesterday. Mine was stickered at 37k, my dads at 32k and my bros at about 33k. I drove out at 26.5k (lonestar with nerf bars, bedliner, and tow hitch) and they paid off my old truck, my dad (lonestar with bedliner and tow hitch) drove out at about 20.5k and my bro (big horn with bedliner and hitch) drove out at around 23k and they paid off two of his cars. I actually went and test drove an 09 and I prefer my '08 any day. I called the other day and the same truck I have, the dealership where I got mine quoted me 21k drive out on my exact truck. Guess I should have waited a few more months... Oh well.
