Wow that's cheap...was it with a hemi? Hell being an 08 it doesn't really matter...the 4.7 is pretty stout

Not trying to rub salt in the wound, but I picked up my '08 Ram 1500 Quad Cab w/the 4.7L for just a tad over $22k. The sticker was $34,685. The salesman cut an immediate $2500 off the top, plus $6000 in dealership incentive, $3000 for what he called the "mid-atlantic market discount," and another $1000 was cut b/c we financed through Chrysler.

The only thing we did upfront was put down a grand to cover tax/title/processing. Payment is right at $400/month, and that includes an extended warranty for 6 years / 72k miles, and gap insurance.

It was great to get such a good deal, but I definitely sympathize with what the TS is talking about. I was originally shopping for a used Ram, and one of the better condition ones on the lot was an '05 w/over 60k miles on it. They wanted $19,500 for it. I'm sure that's fair market value, but when the dealers are unloading new models for only a couple grand more, I couldn't just turn away from that.

If you read the fine print, the 40% off is for 2wd QuadCab trucks.

I live in VA and two weeks ago, I purchased my first Dodge. I've always been a Chevy fan, but I fell in love with my 07 Dodge 2500 Quad Cab 5.9 diesel. I used current incentives to get a better deal on my slightly used Dodge with 17K miles. My credit union called to confirm that my truck was indeed a diesel because they said I should have paid $10,000 more than I did. I saw the specials and I called a coworker who ended up buying a new 08 Dodge quad cab with a 5.7 hemi and it was loaded for $25k. The sticker on the truck was just over 40K. The 4x4 were in fact 40% off in my area.

I guess it is up to the dealer on price. The nationwide ad on tv says 2wd QC.

They are doing what they can to sell trucks. I guess it's better to make a few bucks on alot of units than to make more money on fewer units and be stuck with them.
There is a dealer down the street from me that has a couple of brand new 2007 models still for sale. They added bling-bling wheels and stuff to them and nobody wants them for way too much money.

They are going to sell the trucks for what the current market will allow. All these yuppies from the city want a massive 4 door diesel 4x4 so that they can look like billy badass, which makes the price of a diesel all the more expensive for the folks who actually need it. Supply & demand at work. As of now, the supply is outpacing the demand, so they are having to give deep discounts to move the trucks. I paid $21,489 for my 2007 4.7L SLT regular cab last August. I'm sure I could get the exact same truck, if not better for a few grand less right now.

You could get it lower than a few grand now-a-days, I bought mine brand new last November for 16.5k...and that's before gas really shot up.

I just got 08 QC 1500 Laramie for 13k off sticker, with drivetrain warr and lifetime oil changes and state inspections. It was too much too pass up.
