Just out of curiosity, why would you remove a better muffler (Magnaflow) and install a rustmaster?

Magnaflow too quiet for ya? It'll get a little louder over time as the packing absorbs mositure...you could also put on some headers.

heard the 50 hd was a great muffler for the hemi and i need to change my magnaflow because i cut the two tailpipes off and want to go back to a single system. i want to use my factory 3 in piping and have it cut right at the rear resonator so there is no tailpipe coming out from the side.

I had the 50 hd on my hemi and I will be honest with you, I didn't think it was that great. It is pretty quite for one, but more importantly I think that it was robbing some power from the truck. When I switched over to the Super 40 I gained a noticable jump in power over the 50 hd. I know they recommend the 50 hd for the hemi but just thought I would let you know my experience with it.

The 50HD was specifically made for the Hemi, and like most Flowmaster mufflers are actually quite restrictive, the 40 offers a bit better flow and more sound, but the super 44 is a new design and supposed to be the least restrictive of the bunch.

I've got the 50HD and think it's plenty loud enough though, especially with my CAI & LT Headers. To be honest, until I do the cam, it's staying, as are the cats, I need the restriction for enough back pressure to not completely lose my low end grunt.

After the cam though, watch out, the 50HD comes off, as do the cats (I've not decided on high flows or cat-less with non-foulers) and on goes a Cherry Bomb. You'll be able to hear me at your house!!!

Goto the Cherry Bomb site, if you REALLY want loud, listen to the "Extreme" it also has really good flow.
It's a little too "extreme" for me though, so I'm going with the Vortex when I take my 50HD off...
