new plugs in hemi and gas milage is worse..
Hi, I changed the plugs in my 06 2500 5,7 Ram with Champions, Gap is correct, engine purs good, But I'm not getting the milage I used to with the old plugs, the old plugs were not not that bad, but close enough to warrent changing.
The power, performance is as per new, but I'm not running my truck any harder, I used to get up to 20 to 22 mpg hihway with the old plugs, the tbi is clean, air filter good, tire psi the same.
I now have 56,000 km on the truck, 80 % of the milage to date is all highway, I'm getting betwean 16 to 18 mpg at 60 mph in 6th gear, 2000 Rpm.
Thoughts? I'm tempted to reset the coumputer....
only mods are dual ex, cab hig topper, all with the old plugs....

Reset the computer---let it relearn the engine and your driving habits
Did you get the plugs tightened enough to get good compression? I know, it sounds like a stupid question----but if you didn't, that might be an answer. It is also possible you may have over-tightened them---pushing the seal gasket out. I have noticed on some of the boxes the plugs come in, that they'll spec out something like 1/2 turn after contact---or something like that. Just some possible ideas

I'm going to reset the coumputer, The identical champions, oem plugs, same part number are in the truck, coils are tight, plugs are tight, I really took my time changing the plugs, big pain the ****, I only have a 600 km on the new plugs.
I was told that the platuim or irridum plugs run to hot in the hemi, and best to go with the champions.
With a 132 lt tank or 35 gallons, it gets expensive filling my truck up, I do try some hyper milage tricks, with some degree of sucess.
