Default '08 4.7 bogging BAD

Hope someone can shed some light on this issue! Occasionally, my 4.7 will feel as if it's bogging down when at more than 1/2 throttle. Normally, it pulls fairly hard, even below 3K. However, sometimes, it'll "bog down" for a bit then suddenly pull hard.

When it bogs, it feels like a truck running a clogged cat...sometimes it'll buck a little until it reaches about 3K then suddenly pulls hard & smooths out.

Any ideas? It only happens once in a while. Letting off the gas a bit keeps it from bucking when it's boggin down.

Take it to the dealer and have them check it...

The homemade intake you have there wtih the k&n, did you mess with anything after the mass airflow sensor?

I won't be able to get it to a shop anytime soon. I'm a teacher so I'm out during the day, it'll be a couple weeks before I can drop it off. Was hoping someone might have an idea. I put so many miles so quick on my vehicles, it's been a while since I've used the dealer for any warranty work. I imagine the dealer would run a scan....the truck hasn't thrown CEL.

Don't think I hurt the AIT sensor...it's just located in the bend now just before the TB.

Yeah, this generally happens when accelerating in 1st-3rd. Again, only once in a while. It's odd, different from bogging in too high a gear....it actually feels like it's losing power when I give it more gas when it happens. Feels just like a vehicle with a clogged fuel line or cat.

i would probably put money on the electronicly controlled throttle... my guess is that it's malfunctioning. i'll be honest mine runs like a raped ape in 1-3rd and even fourth. 1 and second it will light the tires and third it pulls real hard even at about 2k or a bit lower. fifth and sixth aren't so spunky but.. they are cruising gears neway.

when you say bucking... is it like if you were to pop the clutch in like first with no gas and the sorta bucking or ??? Definately take it in to the dealer i don't think it's anything more than a issue with the engine and throttle management systems.

Ben, it seems to only happen once every few days. Like yours, it generally pulls pretty hard. When it happens, it's not so much the kind of bucking when you let off the clutch w/o gas, more a stutter & hesitation like a bad injector or clogged cat. Happened again this morning pulling away from a light. It feels like it has more power when I let off the gas a bit, then a few hundred rpms later it'll "kick"" back in & pull hard.

Hey you ever think to take it out to freeway and just hold it to the floor?
No joke your drive by wireless system may be acting up take it to the dealer before you can't take to them. My 05 4.7 qc still has the cable on the throttle.
