1st Post & already need help
Been lurking for a while, bought my first dodge ever last month a 2005 quad cab 4x4. Absolutley love the truck. For some reason since I bought the truck I never tried the 4 lo. Tried the 4 hi before I bought it and it works fine, but the shifter will not go into 4 lo however hard I try to push it. So my question to you experts is what might be the problem and how can I fix it? Thanks

Yep you sure are.
You MUST be rolling at about 3-5mph before you slide it into 4-lo.
It won't go into lo when stopped!
The sequance should be as follows.
Whilst moving forward at about 3-5 mph, put your column shifter into neutral.
Then EASE the 4wd shifter on the transmission tunnel into neutral then lo.
Then put your column shifter back into drive and all should be good.
You MUST also do this proceedure, to get back into 2wd hi.
Be patient and practise and go easy, when moving the ratio shifter into the various 4wd hi 2wd neutral and 4wd lo positions.
If you here ANY ginding or gear crunching, ease it back.
Hope this helps?

Yeah, I never have put 4low in while moving... kinda defeats the purpose of having the lower gearing. If I was out wheeling in 4high, got jammed up on an obstical and need lower gearing to get out of it, you would need to be able to shift into 4low while stopped. I have shifted into 4 low without issue when stopped.
