Default My brand new pioneer deck just stoped working!

Ok guys I have had my 08 pionner 6900ub for about 6 months now. I hooked everything up the right way with the kit crutchfield gave me. I crimped all the wires the way it said on the directions. the only thing I wasent sure about was the black wire that looked like a horse shoe. I guess it was like the ground wire? I just taped it too the metal on the deck. Anyway it worked like a charm the first time I installed it. Then from all the pot holes and speed bumps it kinda knocked the deck making it a little loose. So all I did was took the bezel off and just gave the deck a little nudge to move it center again. Put the bezel back on and every since then It dosent work. I re checked everything and no luck..I diddent think I would of had too take the battery terminal off just to push the deck in a little bit.. Did I screw up and blow something?

maybe you blew the fuse if your radio has one in the back, or the ground came loose?

I have the same unit. You need to find a good ground for that black wire - I ran another ground from the cigar lighter plug and made the connection at a dash screw. Most of the dash screws are not into metal. If you used crimps on the connectors, go over them all once more with your crimping tool. That might also do the trick

very possible, that would be the first thing i would look for is a blown fuse. You say it doesnt work, does that mean it doesnt even turn on or wont play. But if i were you id say check the fuse if ones in the back and than check in the fuse box underneath the hood.

Yeah its dead it wont even turn on. If the fuse blew does that mean the deck is destroyed?

no thats why they are there, they keep your expensive equipment from being harmed. If you do find a burnt fuse than thank your lucky stars. If not its screwdrivers and sweating inside your cab to recheck all your wires and than refortify that ground.

they have a little piece of medal that goes through them which will burn if its blown. look in the middle of it and if the medal is broken or there is burn marks in it than its gone.
